All members are involved in all high level decision making regarding our programs & initiatives. The Board is proud of the Redfern Hub Initiative & its progression as a sustainable resource to support the aspirations of Aboriginal people to establish, operate & grow successful & competitive businesses contributing to the social & economic wellbeing of Aboriginal families & communities.

Debbie Barwick

Deb Barwick is an award-winning Aboriginal Entrepreneur and Business Owner who believes that Aboriginal people themselves are the solution to social and economic parity and that, “enabling Aboriginal leadership regionally, nationally and globally is a strategic and wise investment toward a stronger Australian Economy and Nation.

Having dedicated much of her working life to supporting the aspirations of Aboriginal Entrepreneurship and Business, Deb is working with Government and Industry to ensure Aboriginal Business informs the development of Aboriginal Purchasing Policies. Deb is an experienced trainer on procurement and a respected advisor to State and Federal Governments on Economic Policy. Having mentored hundreds of Small business owners during her career, Deb currently delivers the NSW Business Connect Specialist Procurement Advisory Service to SME’s. She is an accomplished business owner herself, having operated several successful enterprises over the past decade including a Guest House in Pokolbin and Winya Indigenous Furniture, a rewarding Partnership with Furniture Expert Greg Welsh. Within 3 short years, Winya has become Australia’s fastest-growing Indigenous furniture Company. This year, after winning a suite of regional and state business awards, Winya was named Grand Overall Winner of the Prestigious CIPS Australasia Supply Management Awards. Respected as a benchmark for excellence, these awards represent the most prestigious recognition a company or individual in the procurement and supply chain profession can receive. Winya finished the year as Australia’s first Company to win a United Nations Sustainability Goals Award.

Deb is responsible for establishing Australia’s first Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and Leading the National Network of Indigenous Chambers of Commerce to establish a new Peak Body to represent the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business Owners. Today, the First Australians Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (FACCI) represents over 4,500 members. Which has earned her many awards including “NSW Premier’s Award for Excellence”, has been an MC for the World Indigenous Business Forum and in 2016, led an Australian Delegation to the National Minority Supplier Development Council Conference in San Diego.

Greg Green

Greg Green is a proud Wiradjuri man who grew up in Sydney. He is the second generation successor to the 100% owned and Controlled Engineering Group, DCL Engineering Group, who have been in business for over 80 years.

Greg had a very successful 20-year history in coaching Softball teams, during this period of coaching Club, Representative, Academy, Men’s NSW State teams, and A/C Open Men Australian team coaching. Combined with Greg’s 45 years as a Mechanical Engineer Cert & Fitter & Turner Tradesman, is indicative of his business in-depth industry knowledge. Greg’s professional story is one just like a farmer’s son (where he has learnt his knowledge from the floor up to the top of the business), progressing through several other companies and finally settling in with the family business in 1983, Greg spent many years still working through the workshop fulfilling different positions to finally taking up the position as the Managing Director of the DCL Group for since 1992.

Herb Smith

Herb Smith is a Wiradjuri man from Wellington NSW and is the Founder/Business Owner of DREAMTIME TUKA, an Aboriginal owned Business commencing in 2015. After 31 Years as a Police Officer in New South Wales he ventured into the Native Food Supply Industry.

Locally Herb is seen as synonymous with business, community and leadership in Wellington and indeed across the Orana Region. He relishes taking an active role in fostering partnerships between regional businesses and community organisations as a way to identify opportunities, open avenues of communication and facilitate regional growth. His passion for the economic development of the Orana region has been further exercised with his appointment as a Board Member at Regional Development of Australia – Orana. He is also a member of the Wellington Business Chamber, a Director of the Soldier’s memorial Club and a member of the Local Aboriginal Land Council, previously holding the position of Chairperson.

John McNamara

John is a Wiradjuri man from Western NSW with over 30 years’ of experience in Aboriginal employment and economic development overseeing Aboriginal employment initiatives in both the private and public sector. John has developed and implemented Aboriginal employment strategies with many of Australia’s leading companies, both privately owned and publicly listed.

John has demonstrated extensive knowledge across Corporate Australia on their Aboriginal employment initiatives and activities. He possesses extensive knowledge of Aboriginal employment programs both Commonwealth and State-based including both the Commonwealth IPP Indigenous Procurement Policy & NSW Government Aboriginal Participation in Construction policy.

John was a joint member of the first Indigenous employment panel tender provided by the Commonwealth to select and assess organisations for selection on the “preferred list” of providers to deliver Indigenous employment and training programs.

He has an extensive network amongst the Indigenous organisations and communities. This network also includes significant networks across both the Commonwealth and State Governments.

Kathryn Kelleher

Kate Kelleher is a proud Palawan Trowunna woman originating from the Cape Portland (Trawlwoolway) Tribe, Pyemairrenner Nation, in North Eastern Tasmania. Kate worked mainstream until 2011 when an opportunity arose to undertake an Interim CEO role in Canberra for the National Aboriginal Community Control Health Sector (NACCHO) representing one hundred and fifty Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services around the nation. This experience and exposure led to engagement in various areas of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island health.

A major part of Kate’s working life consisted of a long-standing career in the public sector, working up through the ranks to serve as a Regional Manager in Australia’s social security system for six years in two states. This was followed by twelve years in the private sector as a practitioner in the International Education Export Industry. Kate has interfaced with overseas students and stakeholders from across the Globe, involving on and off-shore experiences and extensive travel throughout the Asian-Pacific region. Drawing on the diversity and richness of these experiences, Kate demonstrates a firm understanding of workplace challenges. She has a unique ability to relate to people from all walks of life bringing a richness of connection with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, resulting in a highly valued skillset in cross-cultural intelligence.

Liam Harte

After finishing with the Australian Defence Force Liam began a career in Health through joining New South Wales Ambulance as an Intensive Care Paramedic providing care to patients in and out of hospital settings. Through this role, he has developed a strong interpersonal skill set, an ability to make important decisions quickly and built strong personal and professional relationships with all levels of healthcare professionals as a part of a multidisciplinary approach to care.

Passionate about Indigenous health and how we can affect real change both currently and by doing things better for future generations. Liam is one of the co-Founders of Integrity Health & Safety is an Indigenous owned company that works closely with clients to offer the best of Health and Safety innovation. Through partnership with market leaders, IH&S supports Indigenous education, employment and career progression in health.

As a business owner, he has built relationships with government and corporate clients, driving partnerships that facilitate opportunity for Indigenous people and a deep belief that government and private sector partnerships will play a bigger role in delivering social and financial outcomes to the community. It is a perfect environment for strong leaders and change adapters to deliver sustainable outcomes that benefit Indigenous people – Indigenous health in Indigenous hands.

Luke Williams

Luke is a proud descendent of the Anaiwan people and the Grandson of Jim Williams, a well-respected drover from Collarenebri. Luke has over 25 years of experience working in Healthcare Infrastructure and commercial construction environments and holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Building along with a resume of trade qualifications.

Luke is the founder of Health Trade Services which is 100% indigenous owned and operated. Specialising in providing trade services and facilities asset management to the healthcare sector. This is a deep passion of his, providing professional services and support to our healthcare systems in turn helping our communities. As the vision states “Building High standards Together for the Best Patient Outcomes”

Luke is a natural leader providing innovative and structured approaches, leading teams in various dynamic environments with strong communication abilities. Luke believes the team surrounding you is the path to successful completion.

Michael Hatton

Michael is a proud descendent of the Bunuba and Wiradjuri people. He founded TSS in 2004 with a view to allow others to help him grow the business, TSS employ roughly 100 people across NSW, VIC and PHP. They work primarily in the construction industry and are one of the most prominent surveying firms in NSW. TSS has been recognised as Employer of Choice in 2016 at the Australian Business Awards.

Monty Noble

Monty has developed an incredible love for brands by working for some of the world’s best-known agencies on the most famous of accounts. His portfolio includes work for Australian Pork Ltd, Australian Rugby Union, Diageo (Bundy, Stoli, UDL, Johnnie Walker), Heineken, IKEA, Sanitarium (Weet-Bix, Up ‘n’ Go, So Good), Kellogg’s (Just Right), Unilever (Flora, Jiff), Colgate Palmolive, Japan Airlines, Mercedes Benz, Qantas, CommSec, Jalna Yoghurt and the U by Kotex “Beaver” campaign.

Monty has been honoured in many of the world’s most prestigious shows and in early 2009, Monty proudly led his agency, the Brand Shop, to major recognition in both industry magazines’ “Agency of the Year” awards (B & T and Adnews).

After a couple of years of talking about it, finally went out on his own and founded Noble Brands Worldwide in early 2012. Monty has appeared as an industry expert on many TV shows including The Gruen Transfer, Lateline Business, Australia’s Next Top Model and Sky News. He has also served on the board of the creative industry’s peak body AWARD (Australasian Writers & Art Directors) and, as a proud Wiradjuri man, spent several years working towards a better Australia as a board member of All Together Now – a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to erasing racism in Australia. Campaigns included, “Give Racism the Finger”, the Football Federation Australia’s “Erase Racism Round” for the A-League and the “One Parramatta Project” which won the NSW State Government’s Grand prize for Diversity projects.

Narelle Anderson

Narelle is a Jagera Woman and the great niece of the late Senator Neville Bonner, a heritage of which she is very proud. Narelle is passionate about indigenous communities and has achieved many firsts as an indigenous person, woman and entrepreneur. In Narelle’s words ‘my culture makes me a custodian of the land so cleaning up the country seems a natural fit.

Narelle’s vision is to change the way Australians – and the world – recycles, using technology to reward consumers for the good they do. Founding Envirobank Recycling in 2008, Australia’s most innovative container deposit systems operator. She introduced the concept of Reverse Vending Technology to Australia. This same technology now underpins the Container Deposit Schemes being rolled out in all states across Australia. Narelle is also a board member of The Australian Council of Recyclers (ACOR) and a founding board member of the Green Building Council of Australia.

Robert Riley

Robert Riley is a proud Weilwan-Wiradjuri man with over 30 years’ experience working with and for Aboriginal people in his community. He is the founder and sole director of Pathways Together Aboriginal Corporation, a not-for-profit established to carry forward the amazing work accomplished by Indigenous Concepts and Networking (ICaN) a business he helped establish back in 2011.

He is also currently a director of a promotional and marketing business established in 2018, Whatsinaname Indigenous. His business model includes a functioning native nursery, numerous social and employment programs attached to its operation plus reputable youth programs running within the education system. Rob is also a Board member for AECG Regional Board, Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre.

Robert has a distinctive approach to advancing indigenous business and to engaging mainstream stakeholders. His experience in both the commercial business world and the service sector leads to outcomes evolving from always understanding both worlds and the need for sustainable outcomes.

Scott Allen

With 20 years’ experience in large multi-national and medium-sized organisations such as Siemens, Microsoft and Unisys, Scott is a thought leader with high levels of creativity and a collaborative management style. Scott has developed an exceptional combination of technical and management experience and is a proven business leader with a strong drive to succeed and with expertise in leading multi-dimensional teams to deliver excellence in complex business environments.

Over the past six years, Scott’s primary focus had been delivering business strategies for digital transformation. Managing the different business stakeholders within the enterprise delivering insight and innovative approaches to transformational change that are flexible enough to accommodate the ever-shifting customer and competitive landscape.

Scott has a thorough understanding of business operations, go-to-market strategies and business processes for complex environments. Scott has a proven record of mobilising resources to deliver world-class business solutions and attaining leading market positions through large-scale transformational change and strong revenue growth.
